Danny Lopez Park is a city park located in Tucson\u2019s Ward 3, west of I-10 crossing W. El Camino del Cerro at 4300 N. Silverbell Rd.\u00a0 The park was formerly known as Christopher Columbus Park, and was recently renamed in honor of Tohono O\u2019odham\u00a0Elder and Leader\u00a0Danny Lopez<\/a>.<\/mark> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park is adjacent to the Lower Santa Cruz River, and contains two lakes: Silverbell and Archer. \u00a0 It is part of a larger system of important wildlife habitat, migratory corridor and riparian areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This truly unique environment along the Santa Cruz River presents us with some exciting opportunities to protect and expand important riparian habitat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
