Danny Lopez Park is a city park located in Tucson’s Ward 3, west of I-10 crossing W. El Camino del Cerro at 4300 N. Silverbell Rd. The park was formerly known as Christopher Columbus Park, and was recently renamed in honor of Tohono O’odham Elder and Leader Danny Lopez.
The park is adjacent to the Lower Santa Cruz River, and contains two lakes: Silverbell and Archer. It is part of a larger system of important wildlife habitat, migratory corridor and riparian areas.
This truly unique environment along the Santa Cruz River presents us with some exciting opportunities to protect and expand important riparian habitat.
